Hassle women's jackets online -free fashion, faster metabolisms and ageing gracefully, just three of the factors that supposedly make women jealous of their male counterparts, but is it true that women are really jealous of men? Beautifully-boxed candy gifts brand, Jealous investigates.
"As our brand is all about exploring jealousy we decided, at Jealous HQ, to do a poll of women to find out if they really are jealous of men and what, if anything, they are most jealous of", explains Tahzeen Basunia, joint Managing Director of Jealous. "Below we have outlined the top five."
What to wear – when it comes to a night out, a day in the office or a trip to the park for the majority of men the choice of what to wear is pretty simple. If it's a formal occasion then wear a suit, casual then jeans and a top will do or if it's sunny replace that with shorts! Not such an easy task for women who have an assortment of dresses, blouses, skirts, trouser suits and vests to wade through!
Au natural – it is expected that men will bare their hairy legs, unshaven chins and wispy ears, but when it comes to the health and beauty regimes of women then unsightly hair is a big no. Most women do probably despise the weekly dreaded waxing and shaving regimes!
Growing old gracefully – it's perfectly acceptable for men to show a little grey hair or even go totally grey, look at silver foxes Philip Schofield and George Clooney who are both still considered pin ups. But for most women, grey hair is a signal that they've let themselves go and that they better start covering up with a colour!
Eat what they like – it's probably a massive misconception that men can eat what they like while women have to watch what they eat – but that could be because they are allowed an extra 500 calories a day. Either that or they are better at covering up the middle-aged spread!
Effortless beauty regime – there are only a few staple products in a man's wash bag; shower gel, shaving foam, shampoo, hair gel and deodorant. Compare that to a woman's with the daily skincare routine of cleansing, toning and moisturising, followed by make-up and before you even get to clothes or hair an hour long ritual has occured!
Imran Ali Merza, joint Managing Director of Jealous concludes: "So it seems there are some very genuine reasons why women are jealous of the men in their lives, so my advice to those men out there is act fast. Notes to editors
Jealous is a manufacturer of sweet-gifts which are free from artificial enhancements, are gluten and gelatine free and also suitable for vegetarians. The concept is the idea of Imran Ali Merza (a former City trader) and Tahzeen Basunia (chartered accountant) that used the recession as an opportunity to launch a new business and brand after spotting a gap in the confectionary gift market for sweets. Launched at London's Selfridges store in July and available online from http://www.thejealouslife.com, Jealous sweet boxes will shortly be on the shelves of other major retailers.
